An Orthodox Christian blog helping women navigate fertility, childbearing, and family life.

Offering an alternative perspective on fertility, pregnancy, and motherhood.

There’s a lot out there about fertility and birth right now. Opinions of “hospital only or your baby will die” or “if you don’t give birth at home you’re crazy”.

Then you throw in the pagan/new age crowd trying to claim that birth is rooted in a fertility goddess who can help you find your nirvana with a pain-free birth.

And you’re a woman who’s searching for a more balanced perspective because you know there has to be more to this incredible season of life.

Well, you’re in the right place.

This space is for mamas or mamas-to-be, to learn and grow in their confidence as wives, mothers, and most importantly Christians.

You want to know that what you’re reading is tied to the Holy Orthodox Church, scripture, and oral tradition, while supported by evidence-based research and traditional wisdom. This information will empower you with knowledge that supports your fertility and motherhood journey.

So come along, journey with me as I build a resource guide for you, a Christian woman, in the modern world. Let’s create a community centered on Christ and empowered through our fertility and birth choices.

Hey there, I’m Khouria Cathryn!

I am the wife of an Orthodox Christian priest, mother to 4 beautiful children on earth (and 2 children in heaven). I am a registered nurse and birth junkie 🤗

After a decade of researching, practicing, and freely sharing (to anyone who will listen) about fertility, birth, and postpartum, I’m here now with the compilation of all that work.

My perspective is aligned in prayer and an Orthodox lifestyle. I have been an Orthodox Christian my whole life, with clergy abundantly spread throughout my family. I have a desire to connect you to resources that are supported by research and evidence, supported by the Church, and rooted in God’s physiological design.

“Yea, O Lord, open the treasury of Your mercies, and Your compassion unto her, and let her give birth to a fruitful vine, to be a cause of joy to her all the days of her life: For blessed are You, and Your Only-begotten Son, and Your all-holy, good and life-creating Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen."
